「タイ語版」を実際にタイで使ってみて現地の人とコミュニケーションしたときに、効果の程を実感した良書のシリーズのため購入してみました。

が、思わぬ副次的効果にビックリ。
何と、子供が毎日気軽にマンガ代わりに読んでいて、知らず知らずのうちに単語を覚えてしまっているのです。
これはどんな教材でも成し得なかったことです。
米国旅行に連れて行ったときに実際に目にした日常的な単語やフレーズを中心に編集されているため、とっつきやすいのでしょう。
最近ではカタカナで付記されているネイティブ発音（tやdがラ行になる巻き舌系発音）を一生懸命真似し始めているので、実際に音で確認できるDSソフト版も予約してみました。

この本は、単なる英語のお勉強のための本ではなく、旅行したときに現地の人とのコミュニケーションツールとして役立つ実戦本と思い、上記評価としました。

「ほえあ　いず　まぐどなるど？」が通じなかったため、いきたいところにいけなかった私。
帰国後、マグドナルドのネイティブな発音が知りたくていろんな人に聞いてみたが答えはでなかった。

アジアではなんとか通じるものの、アメリカではまったく通じない...そんなレベルの人間のための英語本。
この本を読むと、なぜアメリカで己の英語がまったく通じないのかがよくわかる。なぜならば「カタカナで書いている発音が？？？？」なのである。
気でも狂ったか？ってなぐらい見たことのないコトバの羅列。これがホントのネイティブイングリッシュなのかも。この本を声に出して読んでみるとわかるとおもう。己がネイティブスピーカーになったような錯覚に陥るから。
カタカナ英語はダメだというが、この本こそ「使えるカタカナ英語満載」本なのである。

ペラペラになる必要はないのだ。伝えたいことが伝えられれば。そんな願いをかなえてくれる本だとおもう。

この本は、いろいろな場面で使えるし、自分ではあっていると思っていた簡単な言葉の間違えを覚えなおすことができます。英語が苦手だと思っている人は、この本のレベルぐらいなら楽しく読みながら学べるのではないかと思います。
