武道医学の創始者である中山清の論説を集めた本です。題名どおり東洋の武術と医術が根源を同じくしていることを説いている内容です。経絡理論を用いて敵の「急所」を攻めて倒す武術と同じ「救所」を用いて蘇生させる医術とが表裏一体であることを図説も交えて詳しく述べられています。古武術の研究者はもちろん柔道整復術の歴史的背景に興味がある方にも参考になる書籍です。また著者が海外で自分の武道医学を講演して回った時の見聞記のような論説もあり、当時日本が海外からどう見られていたかを知る上でも興味深い内容です。
