この本は、作者自身がつけている家計簿をもとにして書いたエッセイ集
です。
身の回りのあらゆる物や、サービスの値段と、思い出を検証していま
す。
最後のほうの、「記憶9800円×2」というタイトルのエッセイでは、母と
二人温泉旅行に行き、失敗した話が書かれているのですが、泣きまし
た。不意をつかれました。

読んで損はないと思います。

お金にまつわる体験や思いを綴ったエッセイ。

最後の章の“２０代の時に使ったお金がその人の一部を作る”という言葉には納得。
確かにその通り、お金をかける部分とケチる部分って人によって違うし、
お金の使い方でその人そのものが見えてくる。
そんなことから私は角田光代さんの金銭感覚に驚かされました。
私では絶対考えられないようなお金の使い方をしている・・・。
（逆に角田さんが私のお金の使い方を見たら驚愕するでしょうが）
“これは妥当な値段、納得納得”
“高っ！！”
“もっと考えてから買わないと・・・”
そんなことを心の中で思いながら、軽い気持ちで読めます。
余所のお宅を覗き込んでいるようなドキドキ感が味わえました。

この人の本ははじめてよんだのですが、群ようこが好きな私にとっては、同じ匂いがしてよかったです。さらっとかかれている感じのエッセイで、何も考えずに疲れたときに電車の中でよむのにぴったりでした。作者の気になるあるものと値段が一つ一つの話のタイトルになっています。なるほどなるほど・・と気楽に読める本でした。
