私がソフィーを知ったのは、彼女がデビューした映画「ラ・ブーム」でのこと・・・。当時はフランス人って可愛いくらいで、年齢とともにソフィー熱も冷め・・・。偶然にも先日、２０年以上も前の「ラ・ブーム」のビデオをレンタルビデオ店で発見！懐かしさのあまりに手に取っていました。２度目の私のソフィー熱の再来です。噂からではスキャンダラスな大人の女性になったなと思っていました。私と同年代の彼女の足跡と自分の歩んだ足跡を重ね合わせて読み耽ってしまいました。女優といえども人間、私達とは変わらない苦悩が彼女にもあったのだなぁ。また仕事だらけの彼女なのに時折見せる才女のような賢さ・・・。脱帽ものです。一人の女性の生き様が岐路にある私自身にも共感とともに勇気を与えてくれました。

小説というよりは随筆。思いついたあらゆるものをつれづれに、しかも偽善のない豊かな表現で語る彼女の文才に驚きました。内容的にも、同世代の女として素直に共感できる箇所がとても多かったです。ただ作品を作品として読みきれなかった軽い解説にはかなりガッカリ。最後に外しているのが本全体としてのイメージを壊してしまっています。もっともこれはソフィー・マルソーに関係ない部分なので、彼女の非にはなりませんが・・・。

表紙の写真をご覧下さい。ラ・ブームで恋する可愛い少女を演じたソフィーではありません。「私はうそをつくのがとても上手」そう書いているソフィーはもう１人の女性です。しかし心が非常に不安定でしかも繊細。傷つきやすく、そして大胆。初めての性体験のおぞましさを率直に書いているシーンでは、読んでいるこちらが泣けてきそうでした。今読み返しているデュラスの文体と少し似ているような気がしますが、他の皆さんはいかがでしょうか。演技で表現できない彼女が文章で綴られています。
