最近 新聞・雑誌などマスコミに大々的に取り上げられているうつ病。年間の自殺者は３万人を超え、無くなられた方の半数以上は、うつ状態であったと言われています。うつ病患者は真面目、潔癖性、完璧主義者など、ものの見方・考え方が堅くなっています。この本は、患者自身に問題が起こったその時の感情、思ったこと（認知）を題材に、ものの見方・考え方のバリエーションを増やし柔軟性を身につけことを指導してくれるものです。何度も読み返すことにより、今後何かが起こった時やうつ状態に陥りそうな時に、現実的なものの見方・考え方を行動に移せるように導いてくれるものです。そういうものの見方・考え方を訓練すればうつがひどくならないうちに、立ち直ることが可能になります。患者のみならず家族の方のも有益と思われます。

認知療法の全体を記した本。実例も使って具体的に、丁寧に述べられている。どちらかといえば治療者向けの本。患者が使うとなると、冷静に自分を判断できるまでに回復してからが良いと思う。それ以前の段階では消化不良となり、かえって良くないかも。

大野さんのうつ病の本です。私はテレビでしか大野さんを見たことがないのですが、その印象が淡々と普通に、しかしポイントはねばり強くという感じでした、本の文体もまさにその通りで、暗くならず、押しつけず、「心でかかる脳の病気」といううつ病のある側面を繰り返して書かれています。実際病気で苦しんでいる人は、この本で直すと言うことは難しいのかもしれませんが、うつ病が再発の多い病気であるので、立ち直った人が、この本を読んで病気のひどい時期の自分を振りかえり、再発の予防をする、家族の人が病気の理解をするというのに、よいと思います。
