私はペーパーバックを読む時、4頁分の総単語数を数え、1頁平均単語数をはじき出し、それを記録しておいて、全頁読み終える迄の時間を計り、一分間に何語の速さで読めたか、計算し読書日誌に記録していた。理解度等は度外視していた。これでは単に読書速度しか判りません

本書では、英文は難しい単語や言い回しには解説があるので、それを読んだ後、速読に挑戦します。各章を読後に理解力を試され、正答率によって、計算結果の点数をTOEIC予想スコア表に記入する事により、貴方の速読の達成度がグラフにより、はっきりと目に見えます。英文は色々な題材がそろっており、退屈しません。

学生に英語を教えていますが、初心者向けのテキストは、ひたすら似たような文章を覚えさせる内容が多くて困っていました。
この本は非常にシンプルな文章を面白いトピックで読ませます！
そして、ポイントは３つのコツで、実は文法事項なのですが、ほんとんど文法用語は使っていません。
これなら英文法が苦手な学生にもぴったりです。

とかく多読を勧める本は、簡単なペーパーバックを読むとよいと書かれています。しかし、英語が苦手な人にとって、何ページにも渡る英文を読むことは、簡単な英語とは言え苦痛です。
その点、本書は数行の簡単かつ面白いトピックを読んで、中学や高校のテストのように問題を解く形式で、なんとなく中高生に戻った気持ちで楽しめます。
