　本シリーズに対してのレビューはいつも誉め言葉ばかりなので、今回はさらなる改善を願って、少し（星一つ分）苦言も書いてみたいと思います。
　まず第一に語句注の付け方に疑問があります。本書で英語を勉強しようとする学習者、つまり英字新聞の社説を教材に選ぶようなレベルの人にとって、例えば「survive:生き残る」だとか「the U.N.:国連⇒the United Nationsの略」なんていう注釈が必要でしょうか？おそらく少しでも詳しい注を付けようという方針でしょうが、注は量よりも質が大切だと思います。もし注のページにスペースの余裕があるなら、英英辞典方式の英語での意味説明や例文を載せてくれた方がずっと有効だと思います。

　第二に英文に行数を記してもらえれば、語句注の場所も見つけやすいし、勉強会の教材として利用するとき、場所を指示するのに便利です。

　又、各章が分野ごとの配列になっていますが、別分野でも相互に関連した話題、例えば同時多発テロ（国際）とテロ対策法（国内政治・外交）など、もあろうので、茅ヶ崎マンスリーのように単純に日付順に並べた方がよいのでは？

　以上のような改善の余地はありますが、CD付で1,400円は大変お買い得ですし、英文の質も高いと思います。
