長らく集英社の少女雑誌系で活躍されていた谷川史子さんが、
集英社以外、しかも青年誌に掲載されていたとは非常に驚いたのですが、
心配されていた作風の変化は感じられず、
今までの読者も安心して読める作品となっています。

今回のコミックでひとつ気付いたのですが
谷川さんは今回の様な読み切り連作(オムニバス)形式が非常に合っている気がします。
最近多かった長編連載ものも、それなりに面白かったのですがなんかしっくりこなかった。
今回のコミックスを読んで理由が分かりました。

谷川さんの作品は「俳句」や「短歌」なんだと。(あるいはポエム)

日常のほんのちょっとしたシチュエーションや感動を表現するのがとてもうまいけど、
それは「物語」というよりもやっぱり「詞」的なんじゃないでしょうか。

今回、心機一転というより、初期のフレッシュな感じに戻った気がしてとってもお勧めです。

小学生の頃、りぼん派だった私も大人になり、恋愛や結婚が身近になってきた。
「くらしのいずみ」は、夫婦たちの話がオムニバス形式で綴られている。
それぞれの形をもった夫婦たち。不安定だったり、不器用だったり、切なく、涙してしまう場面も多々あるけれど、谷川さんのラストはどれも心をほんわかとさせてくれる。

女の子なら、こんなセリフ言われてみたい！と思うような言葉。でも決してキザなわけじゃなく、さりげない優しさが詰まっている、不器用だけど、みんな一生懸命、恋愛している姿が美しい。私もいつか、こんな夫婦になりたいなと思った。

りぼん200万乙女の一人だった私は、少女時代、谷川漫画で育ったうちのひとりである。
片思いや失恋もどこか甘くて、可愛い絵柄とあいまって「恋っていいなー」と
ある意味ファンタジー以上に夢があってふんわりした作品が大好きだった。

そんな、淡い恋を描いていた谷川さんが、少年画報社からコミックスを出したと
聞いてびっくり。さらに、テーマは結婚と夫婦？　と知ってまたびっくり。

しかし、谷川さんの手にかかると、夫婦だって、恋をする。それも、結婚しても
恋人！みたいな力ワザではなくて、自然に縁あって隣にいた相手を、息を
するように愛している日々の積み重ね、として描いているので、大げさでも無く、
すんなり読めてしまうのだ。既婚者が読めば「こういう気持ちでそういえば
結婚したんだった」とちょっと原点に戻れるかもしれないし、未婚の人は
「結婚ってのもいいものかもしれないな」と、恋愛のひとつの形として
思うかもしれない。

安っぽく書店のポップや雑誌の書評に飛び交う「泣けます」「号泣！」
みたいな強引さや押し付けがましさがないぶんだけ、むしろ
胸をわしづかみにされる珠玉の短編オムニバスです。
