一読目は全然大した印象じゃなかったのに、枕頭に据えて毎晩寝る前に
ぼんやり繰り返し読んでると、アラ不思議、見る見る魅力的な漫画に大変身！
なんつーか、このゆるさが、メチャクチャ脳にいい感じ。
ギャグもストーリーもユルユルなんだけど、読んでるとたまらんもんがある。
なんだろ、この感覚。
永遠に変わらない世界を見ている安心感、とでも言おうか。
読後気持ちよく眠れる、精神安定効果抜群、睡眠導入効果抜群の稀有な漫画。
もちろん以上は個人的な感想ですから、他の人はさて・・・・。
ところで中に一話、主人公・歩鳥のミステリマニアらしさを押し出した推理仕立ての話が
あるが、なかなかどうしてキチッとしたミステリになってるのが素晴らしい！

メイドカフェで女子高生がアルバイト。片思いに、すれ違い・・・
王道パターン漫画と思ってはいけない。
主人公の、元気いっぱいの馬鹿さ加減が、ほどよく思えてくる不思議な漫画
基本的に１話完結の展開で読み終わった後には「ほのぼの」とした気になれる。脇役も魅力的。

一見するとよくあるコメディ漫画のように思えるが、日常の生活を題材として、そこから日常の意味について敷衍し、「日常の大切さ」を考える事こそがテーマの根底にある事に気づかされる。見慣れた事象を必要以上に非日常化することなく、「日常の持つ魅力」を抽出、描写する作者の力量は並ではない。

それでいて過ぎ去った過去を懐かしむ郷愁や、あえて死や別れを匂わせる事で「限りある命」や「出会いの大切さ」を意識させようとするシニカルな描写が多いのも特徴的だ。

「それでも町は廻っている」というタイトルが示すように、この作品からは「人の思いに拘らず時は流れていくもの」という、作中人物に対してだけでなく、メタ視点においては作者が自らの存在すら客体化しているような、どこか冷徹で達観している視点が垣間見える。そしてその視線は読者である我々に対しても向けられているものだ。作者の後書きでも「日常を保つ事の意味」についての言及があるように、やはり自覚的な視点を持っている事がよく分かる。

この「それでも」という言葉に込められているニュアンスの中にこそ、作者が伝えようとしているテーマが凝縮されている。そこに気付ける程度の感性を持っていない人は、この作品をよくある単純なコメディ漫画として表層的に見てしまい、低評価になりがちだろう。
