「エクセルサーガ」で有名な（私は読んでいないが）六道紳士氏の作品。
神様から派遣された「三下の働きバチ」（天使（？））の二人が
様々な出来事を裏から手助けするというストーリーの続く短編集。
この本はその第2巻である。

1巻に引き続き痛烈な皮肉の利いた作風が光っているが、
全体としてグロは抑え目になり、逆にエロが増えた。
作風の多彩さも健在であり、各話にまるで毛色の異なる様々なテーマが設定されている。
特にピオラとフィオが自らの存在意義について哲学する話などは
これまでにない新しい方向性に乗っかったものであり、マンネリ化させない作者の努力が垣間見える。

一方、一話一話の中身についても、短編としてテンポよく展開しつつ、
尚且つ随所に急展開を盛り込んで読者を飽きさせない作りになっている。
この辺は作者の構成力の高さとしっかり練り上げられたプロットによる所が大きいだろう。

従来の枠組みに囚われない名作。今後、日本の漫画界はこういった作品を大事にしていくべきだろう。

この作品のエンディングはすでに雑誌で掲載されています。しかし、続きを別紙で連載が始まった為に、単行本では最終話は収録されず最後にとってあるようです。お楽しみに！

実は六道神士を知ったのはこの作品です。あまりに過激な内容だったので非常に印象的でしたが、今単行本でみると随分マイルドになったように思えます。以後、エクセルサーガで連載開始して、随分出世しました。アメリカではアニメが結構人気のようで、なにげに嬉しくもアリ。

ピオラとフィオ、2人の妖精（神の遣い）が様々な世界で人々を助けるファンタジーコメディ。
1巻に引き続き、勢いのある外道な展開が面白いです。
ただ、最後の締め（巻末）が使い古された命題で無理に（シリアスに）終わらせた感じになっているのは不満。
TO BE CONTINUEDとあるけど、どう続けるんだろう…
