うーむ、素晴らしい。何が素晴らしいというと、認知科学の成り立ちが素晴らしい。「現代」の認知科学は少し齧ったが、歴史はあまり知らなかった。しかし、これを読んで、そのバックボーンを知り、驚いた。私が今まで個別に学んできた「複雑系」「心理学」「電脳」「量子力学」「哲学」「人類学」などが、全てハイパーリンクしていたのだ。有機的に。美しいほどに。カントや、フォン＝ノイマン、デカルト、フーコー、レヴィストロースなどが、なぜ偉大か、というのを改めて痛感する。ミクロ「個別」で学ぶより、こういった歴史の流れ、体系的なマクロな知のダイナミズムの中でこそ、彼らは一層存在感を増す。特に、身体二元論、不確定性原理、構造主義、プログラム内臓型コンピューター、フレーミングなどは、こんなところにも影響しているのだ、という知の力の驚き。
