旧タイプのオタクが萌えオタクが気にいらねえ、って飲み屋でくだ巻いているような雑談本です。

まあ中原昌也の脱線しまくるギャグは面白いけれど、全体的に議論が雑。

「ギャルゲーに出て来る女は、母親とか妹とか障害者とか自分を差別しなさそうな女ばっかり」ってくだりは、まあそういう部分もあるかなと思える。
けれど、だんだん議論がおかしくなっていって「萌えオタ=差別主義者」「萌えオタ=嫌韓厨」ってことに。
そりゃあまりに乱暴ですよ。

「高偏差値オタクが低偏差値オタクを差別して優越感に浸っているらしい。本当に最低な奴らだ」
みたいなこと書いているんですが、そりゃあんたたちが言ったらダメでしょ。鏡を見ろ！

文章自体はテンポ良く、さくさく読み進められますが、
行間？間が空きすぎて読みづらい。
内容はわりとありきたりなメジャーになりすぎたオタク文化への警鐘、とみせかけて、
結構偏見に基づくジョークや嫌味が満載。
嫌韓流に対する恨みでもあるのか、嫌韓派（？）な人を「人種差別の豚野郎」とまで書いてある。

オタクの間に蔓延する「差別」を糾弾しつつ、
実はオタクや嫌韓人を一番差別しているアナーキーな一冊。
チンピラの吐き捨てだと笑って読み流せる人向け。

最近とみに自己主張するようになってきたオタク。
それに対する非オタクの反論と言う目的なのだろうが、
どうにも説得力が無い。

まず本全体が複数の論者による対談形式であるため、
個々の論点に対する発言が実にいい加減で浅い。
論者のほとんどはオタクの世界や思考をよく理解しておらず、
自分の思い込みや偏見による放言を繰り返しているだけだ。

オタク側の代表的な論客である本田透氏がデータや根拠を提示しつつ、
論文チックな文章を書いているのに比べると、
本書の文章は常識人の立場からの発言にも関わらず、知的レベルにおいてかなり劣る印象を受けてしまう。

オタク層からすれば、非オタクによるありがちなオタクバッシングとしか思われないだろうし、
こういう粗雑で奇妙な本が一般人に受け入れられるとも思えない。
著者達の目的は失敗したと言えるのではないだろうか。
