最初、本の案内を見たとき「ヒッチハイク」という言葉（他人の力に頼って自分の楽しみを成し遂げるという考え方が）が好きになれず、また作者名も聞いたことがないのでパスしてました。…が、やはり「北海道」（毎年ツーリングに行ってる）と「愛犬」（ゴールデンリトリーバーを飼ってる）というキーワードには勝てず買ってしまいました。結論から言って「とてもおもしろかった！」の一言。久々に心に残る一冊になる気がします。文章に気どったところや媚びたところがなく、等身大のその時々の作者の気持ちが素直に伝わってきます。特に何度も北海道を旅している人には、地名などからより臨場感を持って読みとることができるでしょうね。「ヒッチハイク・北海道」だからこそ生まれたふれあい、また厳しい環境の中での愛犬との頑張りや思わず笑ってしまう出来事など、北海道と犬好きな人は、誰もが自分を重ね、のめり込んでしまう内容じゃないかなと思います。アスファルトに固められた都会で通勤電車にもまれ、スケジュールに追われる毎日には、つかの間の逃避行でした。こんな旅もありなんだな…と。

ただ単にうらやましい。自分にも愛犬がいるので愛犬と一緒なら何でもしたいと思うだろうし、喜びや感動など同じく共有できるのは最高だと思う。読みながら自分も愛犬と一緒に旅した感情になりました。愛犬は生まれつきの皮膚病と関節病があり旅に出ることすら出来ないので、この本でｲﾒｰｼﾞしながら読ませてもらいました。

この本は犬と一緒にヒッチハイクで北海道をおおむね一回りすると言うものです。ある雑誌の書評で知りました。犬と一緒に旅をするというのは犬を飼っているものの夢のひとつですから、早速取り寄せて読みました。犬がいたほうがヒッチはうまく行くとか世の中には潜在的に犬の巣北かたがたが大勢いるとか言うことを知りました。なるほどと思います。犬毛のせいなのか犬を車に乗せるのを極端に嫌う方がいますが、これを読んでもらえれば考えが変わるかと思います。本書で残念なことは北海道のごく一部しか回っていないのが残念。しかし、ヒッチに対する新しい視点を知ることができました。
