ハリポタの後継者としてどんな本か気になって
買ってみました。装丁がとにかくキラキラしていて子供も
好きそうな感じでしたが、開いてみると思いの他大人向け？

ハリポタよりかは上の世代を意識している感じがしましたが
ありきたりのファンタジーではなくＳＦの要素もあって
楽しめました。まだまだ続く終わり方なので・・・この
後の展開が気になります！ということで★４つ。

主人公ウィルはロンドンに住む14歳の男の子。父親である（とここでは表現する）バローズ博士の影響から、ウィルは穴掘りに情熱を注いでいる。
ある日、バローズ博士が忽然と姿を消す。ウィルは親友のチェスターとともに父を探すため、父を追って地下へと向かう

暗さを協調した世界観や地上の人間とは別の不思議な人々の存在は、映画『ダークシティ』を彷彿とさせる。
『ハリー・ポッター』と比較されるが、他の方々が指摘するとおり、二つの作品はまったく異なる。『トンネル』には、『ハリーポッター』のような勧善懲悪的人物構造や読者をわくわくさせるような魔法がない。しかし、常に暗くてよどんだ空気を感じさせる世界は、明るさと楽しさがほぼ皆無であるにも関わらず、魅力的である。
個人的には、『ハリーポッター』よりも好きな作品である。

ポッドキャスティング番組で紹介されていたので早速購入したのですが、とっても面白いです！

ハリー・ポッターは現実世界の隣に魔法の世界がありますが、トンネルは現実世界の隣に広大な地下世界が広がっています。

魔法使いが出てこないので、ハリー・ポッターの後継作品なのかどうかはちょっと分からないのですが、全く違う楽しいファンタジーだと思います。ファンタジーファンなら絶対読んだ方が良いです！
