   ひきこもり、恋愛、結婚、離婚、親子の絆（きずな）、生きること、死ぬこと。現代社会で誰もが抱えながら生きている不安や悩み、ちょっとした違和感のようなものをすくいとり、やさしく描いた短編集。どれも、いまや「ありがち」ともいえそうなテーマではあるが、本書にはそれだけではないものが、光る。著者の、自分の生きるこの世界を理解したいという気持ち、傷つきながらも社会ときちんとつながろうとする素直な気持ちが表現されていて、読むものの心にストレートに届く。

 「優劣」は、「殺す」ことを扱った一見シンプルながら味わい深い作品。飼っていたニワトリを食べる農村のくらしをテレビで見て、自分はそんなかわいそうなことはしないと言う幼稚園生の優子に、兄は「お前だって　今　牛　食ってんじゃん／同じじゃん」と告げる。優子はショックをうけ、肉を食べることをやめてしまう。6日目、ファミリーレストランで「…もういいよ／……よくがんばったね」という母親の言葉に、泣き崩れる優子。「私たちは他の生き物を殺して生きている／この歳で娘はその真理を体感したのだ／少しシットを感じたが／……愛（いと）おしかった」。この母親のモノローグが、子どもならではの方法で娘が真理を得たことへの羨望と、母の強くやさしい思いをうまく表現している。

   絵はオーソドックスなものだが誠実に描かれており、誰にでも抵抗なく受け入れられそうだ。著者の個人ホームページ「COMPLEX POOL」で発表されたコミックを集め、単行本化したもの。（門倉紫麻）

人は日々、無意識に「生き」ている。
「生きる」ことは、あまりにも当たり前のことすぎて、特別なことがない限り「生き」てることさえ気づかない。
だけど彼の作品を読むと、「生きる」ってこういうことかもって、心に訴えてくるものがある。

彼の作品のテーマは、結構重い。（しかし暗すぎない）

ひきこもりや、死と生、男と女の距離、親と子の関係、人生、幸せ。。。
こんなテーマを文章で書いたら、たぶん重すぎて、とてもじゃないが読む気しないかもしれない。
ところがマンガというものは不思議だ！
難しいことでも、なぜかふわっと読めてしまうのだ。

好きなのは「花」という作品だ。

「水も栄養も十分に与えると、植物は安心して花を咲かせない」
このせりふにガツンと頭を叩かれた思いがした。
私に１番足りない部分を、正面から言われてしまった。

このマンガを時々読んで、気づいて欲しい「生きる」ってどういうことかを！

このまんがには、他の人には描けない何かがあると思います。
この何かっていうものを一言で言うのは難しいです。
命とか、心とか、それでも生きる、というか…

生きるって何なのだろう？
本当の心の満足は何処にある？
そういうことを考えされられました。

あと、娯楽としても楽しめるし、
ちゃんとまんがとして完成しているのがいいです。

精神的なことを伝えているのに、イヤミがない。
お金を出して読む価値がある一冊だと思います。

そもそもの媒体がウェブコミックだったこともあり、見開きを使ったような派手な演出はないのですが、一コマ一コマ丁寧に積み重ねられていく構成には「まんが」というよりも「白黒映画」を観ているような心地よさがあります。
傷ついたり悩んだり、悲しいことや辛いことは多いけど、ほんのちょっとした事で救われる。

そんな小さな幸せを少しずつ集めたような作品です。
