【内容】
　本書ではカポエイラの歴史・技・音楽・哲学について書かれています。カポエイラ全般について書かれているという点で良書と言えます。カポエイラについて知りたいという人が読む，「入門書」としては最適だと思います（ホシが少な目なのは100ページほどでこの値段は高いと判断したからです。）。

【実用性】
　技の解説はやはり連続写真だけでは分かりづらいです。本書のほとんどは技の紹介ですが，本書だけでは基本技の修得すら難しいと思います。

【カポエイラに対する意識が変わるかも？】
　私もゲームなどの影響から，カポエイラは格闘技だと思っていましたが，ちょっと違うようです。２人が即興で作っていく演舞とでも言いましょうか。筆者の影響かもしれませんが，非常に哲学的なモノも感じました。

　日本にもやっとカポエィラの本が発刊されました。実際は、カポエイラ・ヴァジアソンの代表、久保原信司さん執筆による『Vamos cantar camara カポエイラ音楽の手引き』が日本初なのでありますが、内容がカポエィラの音楽のみとなっています。
　総合的という面で、この本は日本初と言えるでしょう。
　主に技のレクチャー本ですが、コラムなどの小話なども非常に興味深いです。ただ今後、世に出されるであろうカポエィラの本と比較のしようがないため、レビューを書く手に力が入ってしまいます。
　とまれ、カポエィラの歴史は、ブラジル政府の資料の焚書により、闇の中をさまよっており、細かいとこまでは明らかとされてはいません。
　この本を機に、日本のカポエィラ研究がより盛んになり、様々なことが日本人にとって、明らかになると嬉しいです。
　その草分けとなるのがこの本だと思います。
