粕淵 卓
1972年生まれ。名古屋大学大学院多元数理科学研究科(旧数学科)卒。学生時代に私塾を立ち上げるとともに、中学校の教諭を経験。その後NTTに入社し、現在はNTT西日本法人営業本部に所属。システムエンジニアとして、NetScreenの導入を含め多くのシステム導入に携わり、執筆、講師、HP運営なども幅広く手がける。保有資格は、プロジェクトマネージャ、テクニカルエンジニア(ネットワーク、データベース、システム管理)など30以上

藤田 政博
1974年滋賀県生まれ。1998年、NTTに入社。現在はNTT西日本にて、法人ユーザを対象としたファイアウォール、IDS/IPSなどのセキュリティシステムの構築や、セキュリティインシデント対応業務を行う。主な保有資格はCISSP、テクニカルエンジニア(情報セキュリティ)

山崎 善実
1973年長崎県生まれ大阪育ち。NTT西日本在籍。現NTTネオメイトITビジネス本部所属。企業のネットワーク構築に携わるシステムエンジニア経験を経て、2001年にシスコ社認定資格CCIE(#7373)を取得。現在は様々なメーカーのルータやスイッチ製品などの提案や構築をサポートするエンジニアとして日々働いている(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

FireWallに興味がある方、勉強したいとお考えの方は、
中古のNetScreen5XP（4000円しないと思う）と一緒に買ってみてください。
実機で試しながら読むと、とても勉強になりますよ。
ただ、当たり前ですが、TCP/IPなどの基礎知識がある程度は必要です。
全体的に読みやすく、久々に買ってよかった本だと思いました。

NetScreen/SSGシリーズ関連では初の日本語書籍ということで期待しておりましたが、まさに期待通りの書籍です。
IT関連の書籍はページ数の割りに高い本が多い中、ページ数と価格のバランスも納得です。
内容面では、実際の設定画面がかなりもちいられているので大変実用的です。
また説明も初心者向けにわかりやすく記載されております。
そして何よりも日本人がオリジナルで記載されているので、当然のことながらIT系の書籍にありがちな翻訳のおかしな日本語もありません。
まさに、業界待望の書籍ではないでしょうか。
あえて言うと、やはり初心者向けということもあり設定方法は丁寧な説明ですが、アーキテクチャやエンタープライズ向けの機能はあまり記載されておりません。

この本に出会ったのは、まさにNetScreenの設定で困っていた時でした。

本体機能として付属されているヘルプでは理解に苦しむ箇所も、この本ではウィザード形式で説明がなされていて、本に記載されている通りに進めると、ほぼ問題なく設定が完了してしまいます。

説明されている項目は、このクラスのNetscreenの基本機能を網羅しており、これから初めてこのシリーズに触れる人にもおススメです。

まさに入門書と言える内容でありながら、中級者でも知識を蓄える事が出来る一冊です。
