本書はユースケースと概念モデルに絞り、要求分析の過程を講義形式で説明している。
独学で学ぶ人にとっては他者(本講義の受講者)やエキスパートの見解を見ることができるという意味で貴重な本である。
ただ、メインテーマである「本質とは」という問いに対する説明が冗長且つ曖昧で、頭に残らない。事例も少ないため、実務に生かすには中途半端な本である。

オブジェクト指向でのシステム開発のトップ企業である豆蔵の社員によって書かれた本であり、本書はUML全般のリファレンスではありません。
自動車教習所と題して、講義のイメージで読み進めることができ、本書を読み終えるとユースケース、概念モデル図（クラス図）を書けるようになることが狙いです。
例題を考えて解いてみて、答えを確認するといったプロセスで進められていますので、ペンとノートを用意して、本書を活用してください。
ユースケースや概念モデルを書いたことが無いシステムエンジニアの方は、これらの業務を経験する前の知識として、本書の内容は身に着けておくことをお勧めします。

モデルをどう作るのか、特に、クラスをどう発見するのか
っていうトレーニングの項目は、
答えを見ないで、じっくりやってみて、価値があるけど
これは実際のセミナーではない、本だから、
考えないで先に読んでしまうこともできる。

考えずに、他人の作ったモデルの評価を読んでも
自分の実力にはならない

自分が勉強するために買うのなら、そこに気をつけてほしい。

後輩が入ってきて、OJTでオブジェクト指向を教えるようなら
最適なヒントをくれる本だと思う。
