Firefoxを使い始めて約1年，Thunderbirdを使い始めて半年くらいの段階で，本書を入手しました．残念ながら，役立ったと思える内容は全体の1割くらいだったでしょうか．実際に利用して経験的にわかるような内容がほとんどでした．メニューではできないカスタマイズの仕方などはほとんど触れられていません．ただ，はじめてこれらのソフトを使う人にとっては，効率よく基本的な利用法，設定法がわかると思います．「乗り換えガイド」としては大いに役立つでしょう．

~普段Safariを使っている自分にはWindowsでもSafariを使いたいと思っている。
文字をショートカットキーで指定サイズを無視して拡大出来るという機能が欲しいだけである。Firefoxでもほぼ同じ使い方が出来ることは知っていた。
今回メールのスパムメールを選り分ける機能を使ってみたいということでThunderbirdの説明を読んでみたくて本書を購入してみた。
ここまでのこ~~とくらいなら本はいらなかった。
ダウンロードしてインストールすれば今までの環境は勝手に移行されてメールサーバーのパスワードを入れなおすだけであった。
でも本質を見れば便利に使うための機能を誰かが作ったとしたならば機能拡張として使うことが出来る。
機能拡張の設定で絶対パスをファイルに書き込むなどUNIXユーザーでなければあまり見かけない作~~業が必要なものもありそういった場合使い方の説明が必要だったりする。
ネットをブラウズするでけなら使いやすいのは間違いないが、実際WindowsのIEでなければ使えない作りのサイトもあり見ているページをIEで開きなおす機能拡張のインストールにはこの面倒な作業が必要のようである。~
