くだけた調子の解説が滑ることなく成功した稀有な入門書「スタンダードHTMLタグ講座」の続編です。本書もまた読みやすく、またわかりやすい本です。しかし、内容に信頼が置けないことにも変化ありませんから、よく注意してください。なるほど、本書の解説通りにすれば、紹介されている通りの結果が得られましょう。しかし、Web デザインはここに落とし穴があります。

簡単にいって、Webデザインには「A したいから B する」という「結果優先」方式と、「ここは C だから D しよう」という「原因優先」方式があります。Web デザインが特殊なのは、HTML と CSS という道具が「原因優先」の考え方で設計されていることです。つまり、Webデザインは「原因優先」でなければなりません。ところが、「原因優先」方式は製作者に「考えること」を要求します。そのため、入門者向け書籍のほとんどは、「結果優先」方式で教えます。「みんな A したいよね?　そのやり方は B だよ」と説明します。そこには、嘘とごまかしが必ずあります。本書もそうです。

本書の方向性では、先々行き詰まります。ただ、大多数の方はそのレベルに達しません。であれば、わかりやすい解説は歓迎されましょう。私は正しい解説を志向した入門書「HTMLとスタイルシートによる最新Webサイト作成術」を勧めますが、本書を一概にダメだというつもりはありません。

前半でHTML、後半でCSSの解説をしています。

極めて基本的な内容で、難解な部分は有りません。
平易な文章でページ数も少なめなので、気軽に最後まで読み通せるでしょう。

タグ・プロパティ毎にまとめてあるので、これからCSSを使おうと思っている方には、読み易いリファレンスになると思います。

　ホントのホントに初心者だったときに読みました。
　このほんのおかげで、全く初心者だったのに最初からスタイルシートでホームページ作ることができました。
リンクの張り方一つ知らなかった私には非常にわかりやすい本でした。
　この本を手がかりにさらに詳しい本に進んでいくとよろしいのでは。
