アメリカで1000人以上のＤＶ加害者男性のカウンセリングをしてきた著者が、ＤＶ加害者である父親がその子どもに与える悪影響について細かく書いた本。
わたしも実際にＤＶの被害者なのですが、わたしのＤＶ加害者の様子を、どこかでのぞいていたのかと思うくらい、詳しく書いてあります。しかもどれもぴったりあてはまる！加害者のひどさを細かく書いてくれて、わたしはよくぞわかってくれた！という気持ちになり、気持ちがすっきりしました。
離婚調停中や親権訴訟中の方は弁護士や調停員に読ませてはどうでしょうか。ＤＶ加害者がいかに人前では「いい父親」を演じるかというのがよくわかります。
またいまはやりの「加害者ケア」がいかに勘違いで、もっと悪質な加害者をうむことにしかならないということもよくわかります。加害者はそんな簡単な「ケア」で暴力をやめるはずがありません。
調停や裁判中でないサバイバーも、読めば加害者のことが整理できてすっきりすると思います。
詳しくは書いてありませんが同性カップルのＤＶについても触れてあります。良心的な本です。

“父の個性”だと思っていたものが「加害者の特徴」にずらずらと書かれていました・・・・。
