お話をこどもに語る（もちろん大人相手でも）上で、誰もが一度は目にする名前、それが松岡享子さんです。そのこどもにむける眼差しはどこまでも穏やかで愛情に満ちています。経験の豊富な著者がこどもについて思うこと、それは言葉の問題であったり、テレビの影響であったり。この本が１９７８年に発行されたことにも驚きますが、今も昔も、子どもの抱えている問題は大人側の行動に問題があるのではないか、ということを感じます。子どもと本とそして私たち大人の関わりをもう一度考え直すことを問いかけてくれる本です。

本の導入の部分に書かれていた内容にとても感動！！子どもの頃の時間とは、サンタクロースを信じる事のできる貴重な時間。その体験があるのとないのとではその後の人生に大きな違いがある。目に見えないものを信じる能力は、時に人の命を救うほど大きな力になるのだと大人になった私は思う。特に子育て真っ最中の方には、子どもと絵本、子どもの空想の世界について是非読んでいただきたい本です。

本に対するしつけが大変ためになります。大人でも知らないことが案外ありました。
最初に真新しい本を手にした際、読みやすく開きやすくするための本の扱いは知りませんでした。大変ためになる教えでさすが松岡さんと思います。
内容もこれまた、一度は大人が勉強すべき内容ばかりで、子供に教える前に自分が勉強すべき内容でした。
