   しろくまちゃん、今日はお母さんとおつかいに。まずは色とりどりのくだものをたっぷりと。次は、いろんな形のパンのなかから「ながーい　ふらんすぱん」を、2本。

   「おかあさん　これ　かって／かってよ／ねえ　かって」。クリームたっぷり、3段重ねの大きなケーキを買ってもらえずに「おかあさんの　けちんぼ」と泣くしろくまちゃん。でもお母さんがなだめたり、説得したりする場面はなく、泣いた次のページでは、すっかり機嫌のなおったしろくまちゃんが滑り台を楽しんでいる。我慢することの大切さが、子どもの心にすとんと落ちるのは、それがあくまでもさらりと表現されているからなのだろう。

   お店に行く途中でポストに手紙を投函したり、車に驚いたりと、買い物の様子だけでなく行き帰りの道のりや、家についてからの様子もきちんと描かれている。テーブルにずらりと並んだ買い物の成果を見て、それがどんな料理になるのか、子どもと一緒に想像してみるのも楽しい。（門倉紫麻）

この本を息子に見せた日から夢中でページをめくります。もちろん、読み聞かせをしても興味深そうに聞いています。こぐまちゃんシリーズは５冊ほど持っていますが、この本は「しろくまちゃんのほっとけーき」と並んで一番のお気に入りのようです。買い物の楽しさ、買ってもらえないときの悲しさがとてもかわいらしく表現されています。大人が読んでも童心に帰りほのぼのとした気持ちになれます。

　上の娘は今２歳３ヶ月。ちょうど、この絵本のしろくまちゃんのよう。お買い物の時は、私の手をつなぎ早足でとことこ。ほしい物があれば、「ほしいな」とわがまま。全く一緒で笑ってしまいます。
　本人もそう思うのか、この本を読んであげると、常に現実的な合いの手を入れてきます。たとえば、「お母さん何買うの？」のところでは、必ず「知らないよぉ」とか、「かってかって」のところでは「買ってあげないよ」などなど。
　しろくまちゃんとシンクロしているような、ちょっとシニカルなのか、娘のコメントと反応が楽しい絵本です。
