　この本に目をとめたあなた！　お目が高い！
この本の絵はマンガ的です（作者は漫画家ですから）。だから、「子供によい絵本を読ませたい」と考えている方には、ちょっと抵抗があるかもしれません。

　しかし、このとぼけた話とこのマンガ風の絵は、とても合っているし、こどもはこの絵が大好きになります。専門家が良いと思う、図書館協会推薦、選定本だけが、こどもにとって面白い本というわけではありません（子供の頃、何で課題図書って、こんなにつまらない本ばかりわざわざ選んであるの？と、思ったこと、ありませんか？私はいつも思ってましたが・・・）。

　読書好きな子にしたいと思うならなおのこと、まずは「面白い」と素直に子供が思える本から入っていく方が良いと思います。
　そういう意味で、この「１１ぴきのねこシリーズ」は、最初に子供に与える本のうちの一冊として、強力推薦します。我が家は外国暮らしで図書館が利用できないため、日本語の子供の本は、自宅に１００冊以上ありますが、このシリーズはかなり好きな方の部類に入っています。

やる事卑怯だし、、、ずるいし、、、
でも何か憎めなくて、ついついはまってしまうのが
この１１ぴきシリーズ是非全部読んでください。

この本には結構深い思い出があります。まず、絵が好き(絵が優しい感じで、みんな愉快)でなんども繰り返し読んでました。幼稚園での読んだのは、何人かがグループになって11ぴきのねこの紙芝居を作ることになったときです。一人一枚の紙芝居の場面を書き、自分でその場面を読んでいくと言うものでした。で、自分で書いた紙芝居のところは発表が終われば持って帰れると思っていたのに取り上げられてすごくショックだった思い出があります。
いい本なので今でも読んでみたいと思うときがあります。私の中では、忘れられない作品（思い出)です。
