「ちびくろさんぼ」で検索してこの本にヒットしました。
そしたら、原書なんて言うのが出てたんですね。

もともとは、昔懐かしい「ちびくろ・さんぼ」を探してたんだけど、
まず、この本の表紙デザインにやられてしまいました。
こんなオシャレな本だったとは、昔の絵本に脱帽です。

結局、メジャーな方とこの本との両方を買いました。

折り紙サイズの小さな本を開いてみると、虎のショール？を巻いた見たこと無いサンボが笑ってて感激。
そして、いくつも色を重ねたような深みのある絵に、またまた感激。フォントのデザインにも感激。

なんでこの本、このまんまで発売されなかったのかなー
いろんな事情があるんだろうけど、もったいないっ
でも、時を経てやっと日の目を見れたって事かな。

1ページ1ページが、そのままポストカードに出来ちゃいそうな、
ほんとにほんとにカワイイ本です。
絵が好きな子へもプレゼントしようかな、って思ってます。

小さい頃、私はコレを読んだ覚えがないんです。
ダンナに「モグリだ!!」とバカにされましたので読んでみようかと…
本屋に出向くとちびくろさんぼの絵本数冊にまぎれて原書なるものを発見。
元々読んでませんので(笑)岩波版だ瑞雲舎だの違いは分かりません。
ですが表紙の絵から明らかに違います、こちらのほうが好みの絵でした。

いい大人ですが、最近また絵本マイブームが起きて買いあさっています。
私のように大人で純粋に絵本好きであるなら絵を基準に選ぶでしょう。
実際この本は漢字も使われていて本のサイズも小さいので子供には不向きかも知れません。
そういった意味では大人向け・マニア向けのちびくろさんぼです。

瑞雲舎で最初に再発された時は、正直うれしい気持ちでしたが、
なぜか元々岩波版で１冊だったものを２冊に分けて売り、
モノマネの絵で作ったものを『ちびくろさんぼ３』として出すなど、
だんだん差別を商売にしてるようでいやな気分がしてきました。

その点、こちらはその岩波版のもとになった原書を忠実に
再現しているというので、なんとなく好感が持てました。
岩波版を単にスキャンしたように見える瑞雲舎版と違って、
印刷も明らかにキレイです。
見たことのない絵がいくつかあったのが、一番うれしかった。
アール・デコ調の絵らしいですが、そういうの抜きにしても、
デザイン的にかっこいい絵本です。

元々はこんな表紙だったんですね。表紙だけは、
慣れ親しんでる岩波版に思い入れがありますが、
総体的には、こちらのほうがイケてますし、値段も安いからおすすめです。

こうして本物を見ると、岩波版も随分大胆に手を入れたな、と驚きます。
なかに猿と鳥の絵があるのですが、このぶった切り方とか、
正方形のサイズの絵を無理やり縦長にしている感じとか、
ちょっとすごいのでびっくりしました。
