ひとつひとつの文字が組み合わさり、単語になり、
単語が繋がってメッセージになる…この当たり前のことを
しみじみと噛み締めることができる本。
ライブ映像で悲惨な戦争がリビングに入り込んでくる今
だからこそ、日々使っている言葉の重さ、そして本を読むことが
できる幸せを、命の重さを、お子さんの身の丈にあった
ことばで話し合って欲しいと思います。
そのためにも貴重な1冊。

｢ちきゅうに　へいわを　すべての　ひとびとに　やさしさを　せんそうは　もうまっぴら｣
対イラク戦争が始まってしまいました。今だからこそ、この言葉が心に響くのでしょう。人のシンプルな欲求を｢あいうえおの木｣が言葉にしてくれます。むらさきのけむしはどこの国の大統領にこの大切な言葉を届けに行くのかな？

文字に興味がわき始める5,6歳の子はたくさん出てくるひらがな達を読むことに全神経を集中する事でしょう、こうした大切な言葉を無条件にうけとめる事のできる子供達に今！きかせてあげたい！！

私は恩師にこの本をいただきました。初めは子供が言葉の葉っぱにある文字をいろいろ組み合わせて単語を作ったり、青虫が引っ張っていく平和へのメッセージについて話したり・・・。でも、何度も子供と読んでいるうちに「これって、大人も読めばきっといいな」と思うようになり、ママ友たちにも勧めています。素朴なメッセージ「せかいがへいわで・・・」と言う言葉は、純粋な心を持った子供はもちろんですが、イラク戦争やその前の湾岸戦争などで心が麻痺した大人である私達が問いかけられて「はっ」とさせられるものがあります。谷川俊太郎氏の翻訳の力もあるのでしょうが、本当に今だから読んでほしい一冊です。
