同社のライトハウスやルミナスと比べると、日英のズレや、文化に言及した説明はあまり見られない。単に訳語だけを知りたい場合にはいいのだろうが、ルミナス和英にほとんど同じ収録語数があるし、中辞典ならプログレッシブ和英があるしまたルミナス和英も中辞典として使えるので、あまり本書の必要性は感じない。詳細な説明を煩わしく感じ、実務にしか使わない人ならばいい辞書だが･･･
学習辞典としてはまったく使い物にならない。

5.0 out of 5 stars 信頼できる実務向き和英辞典, 2007/5/19
２版のときから使い続けているが、３版まではフルセンテンスの文例がページの下部にまとめられていた。知的な読み物としても鑑賞に堪えるものだったし、ページ数が少ない割に高度な内容の訳がまとめられていて実務に便利だったのでその伝統を受け継いで信頼できる辞書と言う感じ。独立行政法人の英訳は２転３転したし、国家公務員身分がある法人とない法人があり、最初はこの辞書の訳が政府の公式見解だった。改訂で直せば良いと思う。自然と教養レベルの高い人が書いたと思わせる英文になるようにするには、この辞書のような和英辞書の訳は書かせない存在だ。
