ジュリアナ東京と最大手の介護事業コムスンで有名な、
東証一部上場のグッドウィルグループ会長・折口雅博。
この本は、上場前のもっともエネルギーの高い時期に、
ありあまるエネルギーをぶつけるようにして書かれた本である。
天国から地獄までのアップダウンの激しいエピソードを語る言葉の端々に、
保守的な社会を単身で変えようとしている男の激しさがみなぎっている。

手ひどい裏切りでジュリアナを追われたはずなのに、自分を裏切った人間達の恨み節は一切なく、
騙された自分の無知と認識して前進のエネルギーに変えていくタフさ。凄い。
屈折したコンプレックスや無謀なまでに壮大な野心も、とことん
極めれば、時代を変える力になる、と著者は言う。
批判や嫌悪を感じる前に、ここまでの熱意や覚悟があるか？　と
否応なしに刃を突きつけてくるような一冊。

東証一部上場という大きな山を登って越えた先に、どこへいくのか、
ということも含めて目が離せない人物のひとりである。

起業の大変さがリアルに伝わってくる本です。
株式公開後に書かれた本だと雲の上の話になってしまいますが
著者が株式公開前に書いた本なので親近感を持てます。
私も会社を創業したばかりなので、気が緩んだ時はこの本を読み返します。
何度も何度も読んでいます。読むと気が引き締まります。

こんなに頑張っている人がいるんだから私も頑張ろうと言う気持ちに
なれます。
起業を目指している人、起業したばかりの人にお奨めします。

今から7年前の著者が36歳に書いた本。上場する前の本で、グッドウインの株価がこんなに上がる理由が、折口会長のモティベーションの高さによるものと合点が行きます。「でかい」ことを目指す不屈の精神、潰されても立ち直れる素質は、後天的な要素と、彼は言いますが、恐れ入ります。

商工ローンや消費者金融からの借入から、最後は「といち」業者からもお金を借りていた、どん底の時代。それでも起業を立上げ、成功するという執念は、頭が下がる思いです。起業を通じて自己実現を図る、彼の人生のスタイル。しびれるぐらいの魅力を感じました。

ところで、つい最近読んだ、本田健氏「ユダヤ人大富豪の教え」や神田昌典氏「成功者の告白」の、成功後に付きまとう、成功者のダークな部分はクリアされたのかな、と思いました。彼の、今の心境を語った次回作が楽しみな思いです。（きっと、家庭面の課題をクリアしているのでしょう）
