会田誠はサイコーだが・・。
編集コンセプトとして、「過去から現在までに会田誠・全作品を網羅」という形式になっている。

でも、それなら、年代順に並べてくれればよかったのに。
そうすれば、過去の本を読んだ人は、「ああ、ここからが見ていない作品だ」とわかって、そこから読めばよい。そうせずに、ごちゃごちゃに作品が並べられている、この編集意図は、甚だ不親切。

一方、巻末についている、会田誠による作品解説は年代順。読みにくいこと甚だしい。

それに「全作品網羅」という結果、「Ａ４より少し大のサイズ、２４７ページもの大冊になっていて、重くて手が痛くなる。「会田誠を始めて見る」人にとっては、これ一冊で全作品が見れて親切ではあるが・・。

ちなみに、一番面白かったのは、奥さんと結婚した時に、会田誠も女装してウエデイング・ドレスを着て、花嫁姿を左右に並べて、撮った写真。
奥さんは、この写真を、いまだに嫌がっているそうだが、芸術家と結婚すると、私生活まで芸術になってしまうからねえ・・。

ぶらりと東京都現代美術館に赴き、物販コーナーで会田誠の画集が発売されたことを知った。二日迷って結局購入した。会田誠が注目されるきっかけとなった「巨大フジ隊員VSキングギドラ」のほか、雪月花、食用人造少女・美味ちゃんシリーズ、声ちゃんコスプレ等、めぼしいものは大抵入ってる。

オタク要素を使って人気を得、と村上隆と似たようなステップを踏んでいて、考え方は１８０度違ってそうなところがなんとなく憎めない現代絵画の雄。その（たぶん初期となる）歩みの記録として、興味のある人なら買って損はないかと。

買って損無し。ていうか安い。
時系列ではないページ構成が、会田誠の多形的かつ一貫した実践を見るのに好適。
