現在活躍している人気作家、新進気鋭作家などがザックリと収録されており、
これを読破すれば何となく今の流れが見えてくるのではないでしょうか。
タイトル通り、「少女人形」に特化した内容になってはいますが
創作人形では９割方の作家が基本的に少女人形を扱っているので
特にジャンルが狭いという問題もなさそう。

大きな写真と作家へのインタビューで
今まで人形しか知らなかった多くの作家の姿勢や考えに触れられます。
玩具的なファッションドールから入った方には
少々作風や世界観に毒っ気が強いかもしれませんが、
ビスクドールや創作人形にある程度なじんでいる方、
または人形という「作品」と触れ合う事を望む方には
良い一冊ではないでしょうか。

という訳で、収録作品の雰囲気については
創作人形の初心者にはちょっとキツめ、
慣れた方にはやや甘口めのラインナップと言えそうです。

私は元々創作人形が好きで、ビスクドール、ＳＤやブライスといったカスタマイズドールも好きです。
可愛いお人形も好きですし、ちょっと近寄りがたいようなお人形も好きです。
この本を買った動機は恋月姫でした。
また他の創作人形作家でどのような人がいるのか、ということにも興味がありました。
恋月姫について言えば、表紙のような感じのやや大人びた人形が何点か収録されています。
他の作家についてですが、現代の創作人形作家の全てがそうというわけではありませんが、グロテスクっぽかったり、毒々しかったり、痛々しい感じのお人形も数多く収録されています。
癒しを求めたり、可愛いお人形や綺麗なお人形を目当てでこの本を買うと、毒気に当てられてしまうかもしれません。
確かに綺麗なお人形も収録されていますが、ちょっと毒気というかアクが強いなという感じがします。
収録されている作家を確かめて、あらかじめその作風を好きかどうか確認してから買った方がいいと思います。

2.0 out of 5 stars 可愛いだけのお人形に満足できない筈でしたが, 2005/1/25
恋月姫さんに興味があって購入しましたがページを捲る度に鬱になって行きました。
甘かったです、創作人形ってもんをなめてかかってました。
DollyDollyのグラフィック社から出てる本だったので、あのノリを期待していた私が愚かでした。
ブライスやバービー程度のお人形好きにはちと毒がきついです（私がそうです）お値段もきつかったです。
そんな中で荒木元太郎氏のユノアというお人形が別の意味で異彩を放ってました。
明るくて愛らしくて一服の清涼剤のようでした。
他の創作人形作家さん達の人形に対する愛し方は私とはベクトルが異なっていると実感しました。
お人形好きな私ですが高価な趣味にはまる可能性はこの本を見ることにより可能性が無くなったと安堵しました。
