「暮らしのヒント」ってタイトルだからといって
明日からすぐに役に立つ
おトクなネタが載っているわけではありません。

ちょっとした心の持ちようや目線の置き方で
ふだんの暮らしがずっと明るく、
豊かなものになることを教えてくれる、
うまく表現できないのですが
大人のための躾（しつけ）集のような本です。
ごく短くて、丁寧な文章を読んでいると
背筋がしゃんとして、
頭の中に新鮮な空気が入ってくるような気がします。

読む人によっては、
押し付けがましく思えるかもしれませんが
それはその人の立ち位置の問題であって、
少なくとも私には、
何十年も友だち付き合いができそうな本です。

日々を丁寧に大切に暮らしてゆきませんか、という「暮らしの手帖社」らしいヒント集です。
エッセイ形式ではくて、それぞれのヒントが５行程度で書かれています。

例えば、「おかずの切り方を変えてみましょう」
「窓辺に小さなランプを置いてみましょう」というものから、
「一人のときでも、いただきます、ごちそうさま、おはよう、おやすみなさいと言葉にしましょう」というものまで、様々です。

巷には、生活を向上する為のアドバイスが溢れ返っていますが、
実際に生活に取り入れるとなると、このように短いフレーズで
さらっと教えてもらえることなのかもしれません。
この本を読んだ夜、書かれていたヒントを活かして、
お味噌汁の豆腐の切り方を変えてみたら家族が喜んでくれました。

ちなみに個人的なお気に入り以下です。
「暮らしは夢が支えてます。料理、洗濯、掃除、手仕事など、
すべて夢が遠くにあるからこそ、人は働くのです」
こういう一文に出逢えると、良い本は私達の人生を
なんて豊かにしてくれるんだろう、とつくづく思います。
とても愛おしい本です。

常に手元に置いておくと、ホッと安心できるような、まさにバイブルのような本だと思いました。
時間がある時、調子が出ない時、パラパラとページをめくって、拾い読みをするだけで、元気が出てくるような気がします。
逆に、忙しくて時間がない時に、たまに手に取ってみるのもいいかも。
