「コンクリート殺人事件」未だにこの事件より凄惨な事件は私は無いように思う。死者は一人であったが、そこまでのリンチ等の至る経緯が本当に凄まじかった記憶がある。被害者のきっかけもたまたまそこを通りがかったという根拠の無さにも関わらずそれに矛盾するかのような凄惨さ。そのギャップの理解に今だ苦しむ。しかも拉致されていた家の母親はその被害者と実際顔を合わせていたという不可解さ。しかし犯罪少年以外はその「部屋」に踏み込む者はいなかった。正に「聖域」であった。その全容をこの本では執筆されている。

当時の事件の経過を詳細に記述されているが、それ以外に本書の特徴として、犯罪を犯した少年達の生い立ちから犯罪に手を染めるまで実に詳細に記述されている。勿論これだけ凄惨な事件を犯した訳だから、犯罪者側の肩を持つという事は更々ないのだろうが、各少年達の過程環境等の生い立ちの記述を読んでいくとそれらがこの事件に何かしらの影響を及ぼしていたというのは否定できないような気がした。

全体的に被害者より加害者側を詳細に扱った本である。この事件自体を詳細に扱った書物はあるかもしれないが、犯罪者側のバックグラウンドまで掘り進めたという観点では貴重なルポ本かもしれない。

未成年が女子高生を監禁してリンチして、殺す。。。
この事件がおこったとき、これが人間ができる犯罪なのかと疑問に思ったものだ。
あまりにも凄惨すぎる！
そして2004年、この事件を題材にした映画「コンクリート」の公開をめぐった騒動で、あの事件の悪夢がよみがえってきた。

この事件をとりあげた本は数冊あるのだが、もし読むなら「かげろうの家」をおすすめしたい。
著者・横川 和夫さんは、このようなルポを数多く書いており、そのぶん事実をきちんと、とらえてるように思う。

昔なんとなく耳にした事件｡読んであまりの残酷さ､少年達の軽率な行動に腹が立ちました｡人間として見失う事が無くてもこんな事件をおこしてしまうのは何故なのか､考えさせられます｡
