お友達に薦められて読んだのがきっかけで、是非欲しくなり購入しました。
沖縄のお墓や方言なども興味を持ったし、こんなちっぽけな自分にも命を繋いでいく「役割」というものを感じました。6歳と5歳の子供たちも大きく開く絵本の中身にとても面白さを感じ、命の大切さというものを知ったようです。お勧めの絵本です。

お墓の前で踊るオバアたち。それを不思議そうに見つめる少年。
その少年にオバアが先祖供養をしていると教え、「ぼうやにいのちをくれた人はだれね~？」と問い掛ける。
両親がいて、おじいちゃんたちがいて、こうしてずーっと続く生命の旅。
何千人、何百人、何万人・・・・
「一人欠けても坊やは生まれていない」と。
特に最後のページは圧巻です。

かけがえのない命。
いたましい事件が多い今日この頃。
自分の存在理由も考えさせられ、他人の命も尊いものというのが、小さな子供たちのも分かりやすく理解できる、素晴らしい絵本です。
大人にも読んで欲しい絵本だと思います。

作者の草葉さんに感謝です。

「えーこんなにいっぱい？」小ニの息子のクラスで朝読みをしたときの子供たちの声。そうです。命はこんなに続いているのです。みんなどこかでつながっているのかも・・・・。悲しい事件を起こす子供たちも、命がつながっていることを知っていたらあんなことを起こさなかったかもと思います。見開きの顔の数には圧巻です。さて、何人いるでしょう。
