堀之内さんが始めてテレビに出たのが７年前という記載があり、当時ちょうどその番組を見てから、なんてすごい人なんだと感じていました。
そのテレビ出演時のエピソードもあり、本当に共感できる本です。
よくある成功哲学のようなものではなく、実体験がふんだんに盛り込まれている点がよいです

大企業の中で出世して社長になった人物や、経済評論家が説く「成功法則」の本とは明らかに趣が異なる。
いったんはホームレスとなった著者が、年商100億を超える企業を自ら立ち上げたのだから、その努力というか、根性がハンパじゃない。

地を這うような生活や努力の後に訪れた成功の物語を読むことは、自分で商売をしたり、会社を運営している者にとって、よく効く栄養ドリンクのような活力源になる。

NHK「プロジェクトX」のように、失敗に屈せず努力して成功を勝ち取った人物の話は、現実の話だけに感動する。

仕事がうまくいかない時や、仕事の失敗で失望しているとき、また書棚から引っ張り出して読みたくなる本だ。
事業を立ち上げようとしている人だけでなく、既に立ち上げているけど「迷い」の中にいる方々におすすめしたい。

まさにプラグマティズムそのものという印象を受けた。
シンプルな構成と平易な語り口によって伝わり易さを重視した内容であるが、
社会を冷静に観察し、その中に自分の居場所を確保するために自分という道具
をいかに効果的に使うのかについて試行錯誤する様子は単なる体験談レベルの
内容ではない。むしろ哲学として確立されていると思う。

非常に薄い書籍ではあるが、繰り返して読み返せるだけの深い内容である。
