先日新聞の記事で著者が亡くなったことを知りました。
もちろん何の面識もなく、数冊の著書を読んだだけなのですが、何だか悲しい気持ちになりました。

最初にこの本を読んだのは心身ともにぼろぼろのときでした。とても救われたような気がしたのを思い出しました。

自分のふがいなさや他人の思いやりのなさに腹が立つときなどにこの本を読むことをお勧めします。著者の優しい心をおすそ分けしてもらえるような気がしてくると思います（僕の場合、気がしているだけかも知れませんが・笑）。

将来のことなど少し日常に疲れているとき、この本に出会いました。全部で128の詩がありました。あとがきに、２１世紀をしょってたつ若者にそばにおいてほしい、と著者の言葉がありました。数々の詩は、今の私の悩みをやわらげてくれたと思います。このタイトルのように、「念ずれば花開く」。どんなに絶望のふちに立たされても、希望を失わなければ何度でも立ち上がることができる、そういう勇気を与えられたと思います。
悩みのあるときなど、またなくても今の自分を見直してみる、という点からぜひとも多くの人に読んでいただきたいと思います。

俗世間から超越したような高みにまで
到達した現代最高の詩人の不朽の傑作。
相田某よりはっきり言って、役立つこと間違いなし。
手元に置き、朝や夜に繰り返し読誦されたい。

森信三、田舞徳太郎などを愛読されている方も
必読です。

心の湖へと落ちて
波紋が広がるように
心に静かに優しく広がっていく
そんな心地よい詩の数々。
