渡部ファンの私は、著者のいずれの本もためになりおもしろいと思っている。が、しばしば、「著者の最近の本は同じ事が書いてある、、」との印象を持つ人もいないわけではない。例えば、講談社のキングの話とか、佐々木邦の小説の話とか、、恩師佐藤順太先生の話とか、、。
　今回もそういった定番の話も出てくるが、全体として非常に新たな視点を提供してくれている新鮮さを感じた。
　昨今の成功哲学ブーム、お金持ち父さんブーム、、。そもそもマーフィー理論をいち早く日本に紹介した著者は、成功哲学の元祖みたいなところもある人だ。自助努力、肯定的想念、経済的繁栄の大切さを著者はずっと説いてこられた。しかしながらバスに乗り遅れるな式の「空気」に支配されやすい日本人の「努力至上主義」には一定の批判もされておられる。
　結局、自助努力を中心とした成功法則の外なるベクトルと、知的生活、瞑想的生活の内なるベクトルの融合への視座が、本書に観られたのである。これが、わたしにとって新たな発見であった。
　著者の成功理論には、知的生活への志向もあり、巷の浅薄な成功理論とは一味も二味も違うものである。成功に向けての活動的生活を送りながらも時に、小恍惚感を味わう瞑想的生活の融合、ここに未来型人間像を見る思いがした。

項目別に渡部さんの思考法が公開してある。「若いうちは気配りでなく頭配りをしたほうが良い」「頭を使って神経を使わない」と紹介してあります。またパスツールは「幸運は準備された心に味方する」といってるなど、博学家らしさを存分に発揮しています。内容がむずかしそうだが、ものすごくわかりやすく書いてあります。著作の多い渡部さんが思考法を紹介するのは珍しいことではないだろうか？これからの将来を担う若者たちには是非読んでいただきたい。参考になることは間違いないと思います。

渡部昇一氏の本を読んでいる人にとっては特に目新しいことは書いていない（そのためマイナス1点）。思考方法というよりもやはり心がけ・修養といった内容である。レイアウトが読みやすく、ワンポイントのイラストもインパクトがある。筆者はニートと呼ばれる若者ほどかわいそうなものはいないと言っている。年長者の経験談・体験談・処世観を聞きたい、知りたいと思っている若者はぜひ本書を取るべきだ。話を聞くことで、年長者と同じ失敗を繰り返すことが避けることができる。誰かから与えられることを待つのではなく、自分の居場所は自分で見つけ出すものだと思う。
