　今回も期待を裏切らない、創意工夫に溢れた料理が登場し、楽しかった。
　時代小説の本質や雰囲気という点では、やや難があるが、一話ごとに登場する料理は素晴らしい。
　本書の最後に登場する「忍び瓜」には脱帽しました。私も料理は決して嫌いではないが、このような調理方法があったのかと目を瞠る思いでした。
　ストーリーも、主人公の料理人“澪”の一途さ、健気さ、そして一所懸命な姿に共感を覚えます。思わず応援したくなります。意地悪な大料理店“登龍楼”の嫌がらせにも、俯くことなく立ち向かう澪。幼馴染の野江を気遣う澪。時には少女らしく途方にくれる澪。細かい点を気にしなければ、楽しい読物だと思います。
　料理を通しての一人の少女の成長譚として、最後は明るい気持ちになれる連作短編集です。初めての方は、第１巻の「八朔の雪」から読んでみて下さい。軽い読物のつもりで手に取れば、期待を裏切らないでしょう。

4.0 out of 5 stars 次回作に期待します, 2009/10/18
待っていた2作目ということで早速読みました。
今回はもちろん料理の話も多く出てくるが、前作のほうが料理への情熱を感じたかなぁ。
前作で澪が今いる場所で料理人として精進すると覚悟を決めて、今作で揺るがずがんばっている姿は清々しいし、
新しい登場人物っも出てきて新鮮味や澪の成長も感じさせている。
親友の野江への想いも一途で応援したくなる。
ただ前作で予想された展開であるが、澪が小松原に秘めた恋心を自覚したり、源斉先生が澪のこと好きらしいという少女マンガ的な展開は
ベタかなぁと思ってしまったが、小松原の素性も今回も明かされないし、源斉先生の本音もわからない。そうなるとやっぱり気になるし、
また違った料理を見てみたいので、期待を込めて4点。
時代小説や料理小説とかジャンルにこだわらずに気軽に読める一冊です。

主人公の澪の成長ぶりが感じられる一冊。少し恋愛の要素が絡んでいるせいかもしれませんが、
その点を一番強く感じました。
おさえつつもしっかりと主張している料理という小道具も、なかなかいい味を出していますし、
連作といいつつ１編あたりの長さもちょうど良い加減で、読みやすいです。
ただ、前作で張っていた伏線があまり生かされていないような気もしました。
そのあたりの謎解きは次回のお楽しみにとっておきたいと思います。
