　タイトルを見たときは「何だこれは？？」と思ったのですが、これが意外と面白いのです。
　
　まず、口も態度も悪い異色な孔明に意表をつかれます。一人称が「俺」。孟達敗死の報に際しては、「しょせんバカを踊らせてうまくやろうとしただけだからな」。卑弥呼も相当いい性格をしています。表面はあくまで穏やかながら、悪魔のように頭がよく冷酷な女。この話は、孔明と卑弥呼が、時代を先取りした大科学者との設定で、彼らが行う作戦はすべてタネ明かしが可能なもの。しかし、当時にあっては人々の目に魔術としか映らない。
　この本の見所は倭国内部の描写にもあると思います。作者は、当時の倭には韓国人系の国、中国人系の国、そして土着の縄文人系の国があり、それらが入り乱れ、互いに離合集散を繰り返していたと考えており、真偽のほどはわからないにしても、その様子が非常に生々しく描かれています。
　卑弥呼の邪馬台国は縄文人系の国。当時中国人系の奴国と争っていました。そこにやって来たのが魏の使者。孔明に対抗するために卑弥呼を中国に招こうというのです。孔明と卑弥呼の対決のラスト舞台は、有名な空城の計で、孔明がまるで一枚の絵のように悠然と琴を奏でる名シーン。…のはずが、かなり奇抜な演出になっていました。思わず「！？」と目が釘付けになるはずです。
　でも、一番心に残ったのも終盤の彼女の言葉です。「殺し合いはいやです。でも人間に生まれてしまったのですよ。私たちは」
