いわゆる道警シリーズの第三弾。今後も続くシリーズの一部という位置付けであり、換言するとシリーズの一部でしかないとも言えます。最後まで読ませますが、懸案が完全に解決することなく大きな盛り上がりがないまま「つづく」となってしまいます。結果的にシリーズ完結の前段階の日々を綴ったということになるのでしょうか。

道警シリーズの三作目。期待を裏切らない内容で納得したが、ある意味シリーズ1作目から読まないとシリーズの展開がわかりにくい部分もあり、単品としての作品とは別に連作物の難しさ、限界が出てきたなと直感。裏金問題、大麻取引と腐敗した警察組織を再生したい主人公達と、様変わりしない警察組織の暗躍然とした闇の部分を大枠にし展開する物語の展開は、とにかく面白い。但し、レベルが高い作品だけに、今後のこのシリーズの盛り上がりに期待してしまう。

　シリーズものではあるが、前半から、別々の５つのスタートが平行時間で始まり、ラストで３つが上手く絡み合い、そして次回作につながっていく。
　役者がそれぞれの個性を引き出しながら、そして新しいプロットも産み出していくという佐々木氏の作風には感心する。臨場感たっぷりで実に上手い！
　すでに次回作が待ち遠しい。
