会員2名の弱小ラクロス同好会しかない女子校へ、生粋のラクロス娘・五十嵐千果が入学してくるところから始まります。
主人公の麻生広海も千果に巻き込まれるうちにラクロスの魅力を知るようになり…。

スポーツ小説としても学園小説としても、実に面白い！オススメです。
部員集めからのスタートなのでスポーツ描写はあまり濃くありませんが、ラクロスについてしっかりと書かれているのが好印象。
それに加えてかしましい8人の少女達の掛け合い、主人公の葛藤や悩みを振り切っていく様子…ひとつひとつが丁寧で、バランス良く書かれており、読後感の気持ちよさに繋がります。
たったひとつのボール追い求めるその先に待つものは…？

読んでいてラクロスがどんなものかよりいっそう知りたくなるということでスポーツ小説的にはすごく成功で面白い小説でした。
部員二人から五十嵐とまきこまれた麻生のふたりが頑張って試合が出来るまでの過程は気持ちがいい部活学園小説です。
まったく知らないラクロスのルールをヒロインたちがルールを覚える経過で
自分も教えられているようで、最後の試合までにラクロスの魅力に引き込まれました。

キャラクターもヒロインの級長こと麻生さんのネコかぶりや、
『日本ラクロス界に嵐を呼ぶ女』五十嵐千果のちびっこ大嵐などなど個性豊かで
それぞれがラクロスをやる理由も丁寧に書いてあり、そこがまたキャラクターに引かれます。

確かにバラとかユリとかは妄想でした。

“ユリとかバラとか姉妹とか、全部妄想です！”
こんな帯がついていたこの作品の内容は……まったくその通り。
その手の話が好きな人はゴメンナサイ、あくまでスポ根、女の友情の話。

それは置いとくとして、普通に面白かった。
主人公が段々ラクロスに魅せられていく様がなんとも良いです。
続きが楽しみなシリーズですね。
