吟鳥子さんの待ちに待った新刊がようやく発売されました。
お怪我も回復なさったよし。嬉しい限りです。
後書きによると好きなモノに走ってもよいという担当さんのお言葉で始まった話だとか。
読んでみて、その通りにのびのびと描いていらっしゃると感じました。
以前の短編集のような詰め込み感が大分薄れていると思います。

とてもハッピーエンドでは終われないであろうこの話。
鳥子さんの美学が存分に発揮されています。
滅び行くものの生の煌めき、たくましさ、美しさ。命の讃歌。
それらを見つめる優しいまなざし。心。
切ない話を繊細な線と心で織り上げていく鳥子ワールド。
GOサインを出し、こんな素敵な作品を世に送り出して下さった担当さんに感謝。
そして突っ走って、おそらくとても楽しんで描いていらっしゃる鳥子さんをめいっぱい応援します。

表紙イラストに惹かれて購入。どんな物語なのか不安でしたが、ファンタジー好きな私にぴったりでした。

現在三巻まで出版されているようなので、是非読んでみようと思います。

医者が人間を殺すことへの疑問と、何よりも恐怖に突き動かされて軍を脱走した軍医ジャックと、人間から姿を隠してひっそりとすむ古代鳥人たち。彼らの出会いから始まるこの不思議な物語、最初は試しに古本を買ってみたが、２巻、３巻は迷わず新刊を買った。こんなテーマを、なぜこうも優しい世界に描けるのだろう。これから後の巻も、ハッピーエンドではなさそうだが、この哀しいほど透明な優しさはきっと貫かれるのだろう。最後にちょっとミーハーなことを書けば、鳥人の族長フェア・ケイヴが何ともいえず格好いい。見た目も、人柄も。
