　辞書並みの厚さですが半分以上のページが車のカタログです。せめてパワーベスト５０とかパワーウェイトレシオベスト５０とかのコラムがあってもいいのでは？
　コースガイドやライセンス取得のガイドもお茶を濁す程度。コースのマップ上に車の走るラインくらい入れてもらいたいものです。
　B-Specモードについての解説も期待はずれでした。わずか１ページで終わってます。レースガイドもどの敵車が手強いとか、どれくらいのチューニングが必要なのかとかの記述は一切無し。
　この本でおもしろそうなところといえば、具体的な数値が盛り込んであるセッティング例。ただ４ページしかないのが残念。他の類書ではセッティングの一般論のみで具体的な数値までは書かれていないのがせめてもの救いでしょう。
　最終攻略本としては当然載せるべきプレゼントカーについては全て出ています。当然過ぎて評価に値しません。
　結局ゲーム製作者から提供されたデータを何の料理もせずそのまま載せただけなんですよね。面白みに欠けます。
　余談ですが、前作GT3の攻略本のなかにはJGTCのエースドライバーたちが一同に会しタイムやセッティングを競ったものがありました。そういうのを期待したのですが、あの出版社からはGT4の本は出さないのですかね・・。

この本は「公式ガイドブック」と銘打っているが、グランツーリスモ４の世界を「ガイド」していないと思う。本の内容の半分ぐらいがグランツーリスモ４に登場する「車」のガイドに費やされている。コースや車のチューニングのことも載っているが、お茶を濁す程度･･･。最後にもう一度書いておく、これは「ガイドブック」ではない！

ソフトが発売になってからずいぶん経ちましたがゲームを始めようと思い
購入してみました。見た目が分厚いので搭載される情報量に期待しましたが
全く使えませんでした。発売をあせったのか本来なら掲載しなくてはいけない
情報すら載っていなかったり見た目が見た目だけに裏切られた気持ちで
いっぱいです。ただ、グランツーリスモと切り離して時間つぶしの書籍
としてみるのなら面白い本なのかも知れません。「ランエボだと思って追い越したらただのランサーだった(リアスポ＆バッチのみチューン）」そんな感じです。
