読了時にこれは評価が割れるだろうなって思いました。そのくらい好みの分かれる作品です。
こういうのが好きな人にはもうたまらない。現実と幻覚の混ざり込み具合が非常に良くできていると思います。
この文体、最初はあまり受け入れにくく感じたのにいつのまにか引き摺り込まれていて休憩を挟むなんて考えられないくらいになりました。凄いです。惜しむらくはこの書籍が文庫判でないことです。ノベルスとソフトカバーの中間で手持ちのブックカバーが使えないのです。

やれ評価が分かれる。

やれ鬱。

そして瀬戸口氏復帰説。

私の食指が動くには十分でした。

実際読み終えた今残るのは、生ぬるく空虚で奇妙な読後感です。とても大衆向けとは思えません。
「瀬戸口さんの作品だ」といわれれば「確かにそうかも」と思わせるだけの独特の空気感はありますし、他の方のレビューにもあるとおり掛け値なしに文章の質は高いです。「psyche」というタイトルセンスも◎。

お話の内容は、家族を失った少年が冷静に狂ってゆく様を終始陰鬱な雰囲気で淡々と綴っているもので、好きな人にとっては良質なエンターテインメント。嫌いな人にはトコトン不快な気分を与えてくれることでしょう。（当然私は前者です。）

文章量の少なさもあってか、一見内容薄く投げっぱなしにも見えますが、耽美でクリアーな不透明さが感じられる、考察を重ねることで化けそうな可能性を持つ作品です。よって評価は暫定で４としました。

＜余談＞
表紙は冬目景さんですが、ハマリまくりですね。彼女の作品が好きな方にはお勧めできると思います。（注：絵は表紙のみです。）
また、読んでいてふと「GreatGatsby」が頭を過ぎりました。過大評価かも知れませんが似ている部分もありますしね・・・。

ネタバレは許されないとなると書きにくいですが、ようするに○○オチなのねと
一言であしらわれてしまう物語の構造は、文章がよいだけにもったいないですね。
