ひぐらしシリーズの中でもターニングポイントと言われる罪滅ぼし編の第3巻です。
2巻でも部活メンバーそれぞれの思いが交錯するクライマックスにグッと引き込まれましたが、本作の演出も冴え渡っています。
レナの妄想と現実が捻じれながら展開していく様子が丁寧に描かれ圭一の葛藤とそれを優しく受け止めるメンバーのドラマにも目頭が熱くなります。
やはり本作で完結ではなく第4巻にて完結、ということですが、レナと部活メンバーと警察の思惑が最後に集約してくるなどやはり盛り上げ方が上手く最終巻に大いに期待が持てます。
作画も鬼隠し編と比べると格段に上手くなっていますしね。

世界から外れていく感覚。
信じられるのは自分だけ。

誤解とめぐり合わせの悪さのせいで、加速度的に現実を失っていくレナ。
その描写があまりに残酷で、あまりに救われなくて、思わず唸ってしまった。

でも、レナを責めたり、「おかしな子」だと見なしたりすることはできないと思う。
自分しか信じられないような状況は、誰にだった訪れうるものだ。
「鬼隠し編」で圭一視点から物語られたとき、多くの読者は圭一同様、狂っているのは世界のほうだと確信していたはず。
あのとき圭一が感じた恐怖は、紛れもない真実だった。

「罪滅し編」も次巻でとうとうラスト。
最後にレナには幸せにあってほしいと思うけれど、壊れていくレナも素敵だと思ってしまうのは駄目かな？

　ちょっとした誤解からどんどんレナが疑心暗鬼になっていきます。それを救うために圭一が

立ち上がりますが・・・

　また鬼隠し編の真相が明らかになります。アニメしか観ておらず、モヤモヤ感が残ってい

る方にお勧めできると思います。魅音とレナの豹変、おはぎの中の針、魅音の持っていた注射

器、これらの謎を読んで確かめてみてください。

　２５０ページの大ボリュームですが、まだ完結していません。更なる期待をこめて星５つです。
