私は（今のところ）麻雀をやった事もなければルールを知るわけでもありません。
なのにこの本を選んだ理由は、ネット上のブログなどで『面白い』との情報を得たからと実に簡単。

冒険しようと買いましたが、本を開いて数秒で「これはキタ！」と思えました。
その理由としては、まず女性キャラが皆して独特な特徴を持ち、かわいいこと。
（単純ですが大きな判断材料ではないでしょうか）
あとは、『麻雀を知らない』にも関わらず全体を通して楽しめること。
ストーリー全体がキャラの心情を描写しているシーンも多く、楽しいです。

と、ここまで絶賛しておきながら星４つなのは、私が麻雀を知らないから。
知識も無いのに「麻雀に関する部分」に評価は下せないかな〜と。
ある意味これは私自身への星１つ減点です。

私の様な麻雀を知らないのにこの本に興味を持った方、是非一度読んでみてください。
知識が無くても、麻雀の役を”１種の魔法の呪文”的にイメージして読んでいけば問題ないはずです（笑）

あとは、これを読んでから麻雀覚えてもいいかもしれませんね。

単純に漫画としては、キャラも可愛く読みやすい。
ただし、近代麻雀等の麻雀漫画を読みなれている人が読むと期待外れになるだろう。
掲載誌が少年誌ということもあってか、麻雀のルールを知らない読者に配慮した構成である。
主人公の得意技（？）もどこかで聞いたようなもの。
ただ、週刊誌での連載なので発刊ペースは速いだろうから、2巻以降化ける可能性は多いにある。
多彩なキャラと高校生麻雀大会という設定をどこまで生かせるか期待。

オタの贔屓目をやや割り引いても、面白いものはあると思う。
（胸の形に作られたかのような和の服や、短かいながらもパンツだけは見せない鉄壁防御を誇るスカートはさすがに笑ってしまうのだが）

かわいい・ちょっとえっちぃ絵を見るのが快楽だというのもあるが、それ「だけ」のマンガなら掃いて捨てたくなる程ある。
「咲」はそれだけで足りない要素を麻雀という分厚くでっかい土台がガッツリ支えていると言えるだろう。
細かな一手一手を緻密に追うのではなく、流れと点数で展開を作っているのも、麻雀を知らない読者にも敷居が低くなっている理由だろう。

だがキャラが漫然と並んでいるコマが多いのはいただけない。
やたらと人数が登場する為、仕方ない部分があるのは確かだろうが、平坦な印象が残る。
台詞や回想以外でももっとドラマが作れるはず。

…あ、続きは読みたいです。
