ガンガン連載の人気コミック「鋼の錬金術師」13巻。

大抵の少年漫画は連載が長くなるとストーリーに矛盾が生じ始めるのだが、
この作品はさまざまな複雑な設定を内包しながら、
1巻の発売から実に4年が経過した今でも一切の矛盾が生じていない。

また最近の少年漫画のただひたすらバトルに終始する傾向も見受けられない
バトルシーンの比重が極端でなく、ちゃんとストーリーに重きを置けている。
そのバトルシーンでも奇抜すぎる技も過剰すぎる破壊演出も
用いずに、それでいてスピード感あふれる切迫した空気をかもし出している。

ストーリーの出来もすばらしく、コミカルでありアットホームな
雰囲気の時もあれば、2巻やこの13巻のようにシリアスな時には
心に突き刺さる印象的な演出がなされている。
これらもその対比によりより深い印象を与える手法はさすがのものである。

これらは全て綿密な計画の上に成り立っているのだろう。
そこら辺にごろごろしている行き当たりばったりの
無理やり引き伸ばしたゴムのような漫画とは一線を画す作品だ。

この巻ではいよいよストーリーの核心へ突っ込んでいく。
日本を代表するこの作品を読まずして今日の漫画文化を語ることはできない。

この巻はそれぞれのキャラクターの秘密が明かされ、そして物語が大きく進む巻でもあります。やや終幕に向かいつつ感がありますね。
少年漫画にしてはグロイシーンが多々ありますが、私には気にならない程度でした。

鋼の錬金術師には毎巻毎巻驚かせます。本当に物語の骨格がしっかりしている話です。
売れる漫画には意味がある！ってことですね！

シンの人々
そして軍
それが互いに今までに無く複雑に絡み合ってくる。
恐らくこの巻はそのきっかけとなることを見る事が出来たのでしょう。

錬金術の謎も幾つか明かされ、
そして増えてくる。

ストーリーの上手さには驚嘆。
