フィールド上の宝のマップや、アイテムのチェックシートなどがあってとても見やすくて良かったと思います。ただ期待していた終盤の情報は少ないような気がします。ドラクエ８の発売からだいぶたつので、終盤の情報がもう少し欲しかったです。

１０才の娘が初めてドラクエ８をやり始めたが、先に進む事ができず、迷っていた。そこで、この本を購入したら、サクサク進む事が出来た。それでも、途中、詳しく書いていない部分は、自分なりに探し出して、なんとか進めている。攻略本で、全て解ってしまったら、ゲームの面白さは、半減してしまうので、この程度まで紹介してあれば、まず、必要条件は満たしているのではないでしょうか？
ただし、ページの割り振りに一部誤解を招く（別の場所の解説が左右のページにあり、娘は、それが繋がっていると思ったらしく、「進めない！」と嘆いていました）部分があったのは、残念でした。
まあ、ここまでの解説で充分でしょう。これ以上解説してしまうと、意味が無くなるので。

ドラクエのガイドブックを買うのは初めてだったのですが、
スタジオベントスタッフが手がけたということで、
FFの「ULTIMANIA」シリーズが好きだったため、
その内容密度の濃さに期待していました。

下巻とともに参照すると、非常に細かいところまで知ることができるので、
これから初めてプレイする人（且つ攻略本に抵抗がない人）には
濃密な冒険が出来る良いガイドブックになると思います。

ただ、物語終盤のあたりのことやアイテムなどの情報が一部ヒミツにされているため、
この本だけでいわゆる「コンプリート」することは出来ないようになっています。
一度クリアした人にとっては、そういう情報が満足に得られない部分もあるかもしれません。
