現在、これのPS2用のゲームが発売されている。

小説なので、ゲーム本編とはひと味違ったストーリー展開。
当たり前だが、ダンジョン内部などは中略されている。
これは、あくまでストーリーを楽しむためだと思う。
また、ゲーム本編と小説でキャラの性格に微妙なラグが発生している。

ラグは、メディアの違いによる産物。まぁ、少しぐらいなら違ってもいいと思う。

個人的にはオススメしたい１冊。SF好きなら尚更オススメだ。
ゲームをやったことがある人も無い人も読んでみてはいかがだろうか？

私は、スターオーシャン３は今までプレイしたゲームソフトの中ではかなり上位にランクインされているのですが、この小説はイケませんでした。
一応、シナリオは大体ゲームに沿って流れているのですが、キャラクターのセリフが微妙で、ゲームのキャラの性格と、小説のキャラの性格がちょっと違って見えました。キャラクターに関する高感度が一気に下がりましたし、何より筆者に対して嫌悪感を感じました。
しかし、スターオーシャン３に登場する数多の難解用語の解説は、きちんとしすぎていて、アインシュタインの何とかの公式だとか、量子理論だとか、時間の原理だとか、そういうのが解説されていて、そこは面白かったです。
文章のデザインもごっちゃりしている訳ではなく、割とスッキリしていて読み易かったです。
ゲームのスターオーシャン３を全く知らないファンにはお勧め出来ます。ただ、この小説を読んだ後でゲームをプレイすると、反対にゲームのスターオーシャン３が嫌いになってしまうかも知れません。
ゲームにするか、小説にするか、どちらかを選びましょう。

コミック版のスターオシャンTill the End of Timeでは辛口の評価をしていた僕だけど、
この小説版はもう最高によかった！！
神田　晶さんって絵はとっても良いんだよね。ストーリーを書くと血なまぐさくなるのが玉に傷で・・・

ストーリーはSFものに定評がある（みたい）北原尚彦さん担当、コミック版とは違い
あくまでゲームのストーリーに沿った形で書かれているのでオリジナル性は低いかも、
でもコミックではうやむやにされた謎や、分かりにくい専門用語の解説なども載っていてコミックを読んだ人や初めて読む人にもお勧め！！
さらに、コミック版ではかかれなかったフェイトたちの服装なども、挿絵として描かれているところがあるのでぜひとも見てもらいたいね。
