5.0 out of 5 stars 色んな要素の詰まったファンタジー, 2005/4/26
王子に間違われた一介の鍛冶屋の娘フレイが、
国内外で起きている二つの民族の抗争を鎮めていく
剣と戦のファンタジー小説。

伝説の剣を携えたフレイの姿に、人々は彼女を崇め、
その優しさに心を打たれ、強さに惹かれ、慕い、
民族間の対立は少しずつ収まっていく。

物語はしっかりと錬られ、よく出来ているが、
読んでいてやや押しつけがましさを感じる。
あまりにも上手く行きすぎて、気味が悪いのだ。

しかし、キャラクターは魅力的、個性的で、
ストーリー性もある。いのまたむつみ氏の素晴らしい
挿し絵もあり、読み応え十分。
この手の小説には珍しく、恋愛要素もふんだんで、
色々な角度から総合的に判断して、面白い小説だと言える。

ライトファンタジーと呼ぶにはやや重厚だが、
本格ファンタジーと呼ばれるものよりはずっと読みやすい。
色んな読者層にお勧めできる一冊。
