本の内容については、ダイレクトレスポンスマーケティングの代表的なノウハウを網羅した、非常に完成されたものです。

ただし、ジェイエイブラハムが、ダイレクトマーケティングのオリジナルの提唱者でもなければ、この本が原典でもありません。アメリカには、ジェイエイブラハムだけでなく、たくさんの著名で実力あるマーケッターがおり、この本よりも優れたものがたくさんあります。

内容は、ピカ一ですけど。

どうも、この監訳の方のねらいは、ジェイエイブラハムの名前を使って、ご自分のブランドを高めようとした感があり、そこが、この本の評価を落としてしまうのが残念に思われます。

監訳をするのであれば、正確な情報と適切な表現で、本の内容を紹介して欲しいですね。出版社は、監訳者を選択するときに、そのあたりをしっかりと理解していて、個人的なブランド目的ではなく、その本への愛情を持っている方にお願いすべきではないでしょうか。

何度も言うようですが、本の内容自体は、とてもよくまとまったすばらしいものです。

米国で経営をしており、仕事柄マーケティングの本をたくさん読んでいます。日本での翻訳や出版にも注目していますが、この本の監訳者の言葉を読んで非常に違和感を覚えました。

たしかに、コンセプトがわかりやすくまとめられた良書ですし、これをきっかけにマーケティングの世界を知るのもいいと思います。

ただ、内容や考え方自体は、それ以前に出版された多くのマーケティング本やビジネス本に認められるものであり、革新的なものではありません。

「次第にJAYのノウハウを日本に導入してきたマーケターの書籍の読者による、二次的な模倣」とありますが、日本のマーケッターだって、英語さえ読めれば数十年前にでも米国のディレクトレスポンスの手法を身につけるのは十分に可能だったはずで、一概に彼らが「Jayを模倣している」と断じるには根拠がなさすぎます。

さらに「本物だけが持つパワー」「長い年月が経ってもその価値が失われることはありません」などと書かれておりますが、この本が米国で出版されたのは2000年のことです。
出版から5年しか経っていない本を、マーケティングの「原典」などと呼ぶことに極度の違和感を覚えます。

米国では、数あるマーケティング本のベストセラーのひとつに過ぎないし、彼だけを「本物」と呼ぶ根拠が不明です。

ダイレクトマーケティングの定番本のようです。といいますかダン・ケネディと並ぶネタ本だと思います。
著者は言及されていますが「この本に出てくる内容はどこかで聞いたことがある云々・・・」は全くその通りです。
日本の多くのマーケッターのネタ本であることは間違い無いと思います。

けれども若干、翻訳文が読みにくかったです。
また冗長な箇所が多々あり、まわりくどい表現も多いので、内容は１／３に圧縮できるでしょう。
